Terms of Service
These terms explain how you may use reckon, how paid subscriptions work, how Stripe handles checkout and refunds, and where the app has hard limits.
Operator
reckon is operated by Ali Dahud, 7100 Szekszard, Rakoczi utca 67, Hungary.
Email: alidahud@gmail.com
Agreement
By creating an account, signing in, subscribing, or using reckon, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The Privacy Policy explains how reckon collects, uses, stores, and deletes personal data. It is part of how the service is provided, but these terms govern the contractual use of the app.
The Service
reckon is a private urge check-in and reflection app. It lets you save an identity statement, log urge check-ins, answer nightly reflections, and view your private pattern.
You are responsible for what you write in the app. Do not enter personal data about other people unless you have a clear lawful reason and any needed permission.
Important Limits
reckon is not therapy, medical care, professional advice, crisis support, or an emergency service. Entries are not monitored for emergencies. If you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
The app can help you keep a private record, but it does not guarantee recovery, behavior change, mental health outcomes, or uninterrupted access.
Eligibility And Accounts
reckon is not intended for children under 16. If you are under the age required to enter a contract where you live, you may use reckon only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
You must provide accurate account and billing information, keep your sign-in method secure, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Your Entries
You keep ownership of the check-ins, reflections, identity statement, and other text you save in reckon. You give reckon the limited permission needed to store, process, secure, and show that content back to you so the app can work.
You may ask us to delete your account and entries by email. Some limited information may be kept when needed for legal, security, abuse-prevention, tax, accounting, or dispute reasons.
Subscriptions And Payment
Some parts of reckon require a paid Pro subscription after any free access period ends. Subscriptions may be offered monthly, yearly, or on another interval shown at checkout. Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period.
Stripe processes checkout, recurring subscription payments, payment method updates, invoices, billing portal access, tax calculation, and refunds. You may see Stripe-hosted pages and Stripe terms or privacy notices during checkout or billing management. Stripe is the payment processor; reckon remains responsible for the app, subscription access, and refund policy.
Prices, taxes, and the billing interval are shown before you pay. You authorize reckon and Stripe to charge your selected payment method for the subscription and applicable taxes until you cancel.
Cancellations
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Stripe Billing Portal when it is available in the app. You can also email us for help. Cancellation stops future renewal charges, but it does not automatically refund past charges.
If you cancel without a refund, access normally continues until the end of the paid billing period unless the app or Stripe shows a different cancellation date.
Refunds
You may request a refund of your first paid subscription charge within 14 days after that charge by emailing alidahud@gmail.com. Send the request from the email address connected to your reckon account or include enough information for us to verify the account and payment.
If the refund is approved, we will cancel the paid subscription and revoke Pro access immediately. Your account and saved entries are not deleted just because a payment is refunded.
Refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Banks and payment providers control when the money appears on your statement. Stripe or your bank may show a payment reversal instead of a separate refund credit when a refund is issued soon after the charge.
Renewal charges after the first paid charge are not refundable unless required by law, caused by duplicate or erroneous billing, or approved by us in a specific case.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law where you live. If mandatory consumer law gives you a longer cancellation, refund, withdrawal, repair, replacement, price reduction, or conformity right, that mandatory right applies.
The 14-day first-charge refund policy is intended to provide a simple way to handle early paid subscription withdrawal requests for a digital service without forcing you into a separate form.
Acceptable Use
You must not use reckon to break the law, attack or probe the service, bypass access controls, scrape the app, interfere with other users, upload malicious code, or misuse authentication, billing, or support systems.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use creates security, legal, operational, payment, or abuse risk.
Availability And Changes
reckon is provided as a live digital service. We may change, pause, restrict, or discontinue features when needed to maintain, improve, secure, or operate the app.
We may update these terms when the app, billing model, legal requirements, or service providers change. The updated date at the top shows when these terms last changed.
Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, reckon is provided without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular personal outcome. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages where such limits are allowed by law.
These limits do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, except where mandatory consumer law where you live requires a different rule. Consumers may bring claims in courts or before authorities that mandatory law makes available to them.
Before starting a formal dispute, contact us by email so we can try to resolve the issue directly.
